Leader of The Council -Tony McDermott

Welcome to the Halton Labour Party Web Site, I believe that Halton is one of the most progressive local authorities under Labour control. Our aim is to keep  the public informed of our services and to make us, as a Labour council more accessible to the people.

Our Five Strategic Priorities

Halton has inherited more than its share of problems, many rooted in the area's industrial past. Making the Borough a better place to live and work presents some major challenges and opportunities for us all. Based on the facts and figures about conditions in Halton and what the people of the Borough told us five strategic priorities emerged.  These are:

 1. Improving health standards.

 2. Promoting urban renewal.

 3. Enhancing life chances and employment.

 4. Tackling poverty and deprivation.

 5. Ensuring safe and attractive
     neighbourhood

Working in Partnership

As a council we work with many other agencies in the UK and Europe to help bring employment to the borough.
We have a very pro-active Economic Development Unit and whether you are a small or a multi national business they can help you.
